Hamish’s Dreck

posted by Bobaganush

Hamish’s Dreck Plunder for the Non-Discriminating Hordes As I have always said, the key to good garb is the accessories.  If you don’t have the right accessories you are just some dofus in a poet shirt or a peasant blouse.  Hamish’s Dreck is one of those places you can get all the accessories you need for that starter costume and do it on the cheap. Now, if you are up on your etymology, then you know that dreck is basically detritus.  That flotsam and jetsam that seems to accumulate.  At Hamish’s Dreck, they have accumulated LOTS of flotsam and the jetsam is taking over.  From the selection of leather items to...

Quicksilver Mint

posted by Bobaganush

Quicksilver Mint Mythical and Alchemical Medallions Several years ago I bought one of my favorite accessories, a piece of jewelry that I wear on a daily basis, whether I am in costume, going to church or just hanging around town.  I am speaking of a stamped bronze medallion that I got from Quicksilver Mint at the Tennessee Renaissance Festival. I love this piece of jewelry!  One side is a skull and crossbones (big surprise there, right) and the other is a Maltese Cross that is very similar to a Templar Cross, thus it fits my garb and gives me the ability to flip it if I want to be a pirate but not draw attention to myself. This is the...

Blackened Ruby Jewelry Addictive and Affordable Handmade Jewelry Blackened Ruby Jewelry takes the history and beauty of the cameo to a whole new punk rock level.  The cameo has been a part of jewelry since around the 3rd century BC.  This style of jewelry has found a renewed curiosity over the years, most notably during the Renaissance period.  Is it any wonder then that Blackened Ruby has found a home with the folks that frequent the Renaissance Festival circuits around the country. Blackened Ruby carries the mainstays that you see in classic cameos but they also throw in the different and the macabre.  In some sense Blackened Ruby has...
